My Story
First and foremost, I’m a mom to three littles and a wife. It was instilled in me very early on that family comes first. I work full time as a financial advisor in a family owned practice with my dad and my brother. I love helping my clients reach their financial milestones, but ever since I can remember, I have enjoyed making things.
When I was a kid, Art was always my favorite subject in school. When I got to college, I pursued a degree in Entrepreneurship. I’ve also always loved being the boss. What can I say, I’m the first born in my family!
After I graduated college, I got married and had my babies, but even amongst the chaos of daily life I continued to be a DIY type of gal. I’m not afraid to build a table, sew new pillow covers for the couch or refinish furniture. All the projects I take on usually come complete with my husband’s eyerolls, but I know he loves my creative side and he’s usually impressed with the final product.
Why I started Rainy Day Girl Designs
Honestly, it was kind of a fluke. I made a pair of leather earrings for myself and I started wearing them. I fell in love with how lightweight they are compared to their size. Plus, they are so versatile for day-to-day or dressed up! My creativity was sparked with all the different colors and designs that could be made.
After showing the pair I made to one of my dearest friends, she encouraged me to make them to sell. I took her advice, as nerve-wracking as it felt, and Rainy Day Girl Designs was born.
I pride myself on using genuine materials and having great attention to detail with my designs. I test out every design I make to ensure they wear well and that allows me to address design flaws before they are in my customers hands, or ears to be precise.
